Sunday 20/11/2011

Wow, look at that, yet another numerically pleasing date! Even more so if you put in Americanise actually, look – 11/20/2011 !

Is it just me, or are there an abnormally large amount of pleasing dates this year? Maybe I’m just more aware of them… No, I think it’s to do with the year being mostly binary, and all the good combinations you can then get with the month and day numbers.

Anyhow! Papacrow and I had a very pleasant little lie in while the others had cereal in front of Match of the Day and a bit of Merlin. Then Papacrow and I had a very civilised breakfast with just the two of us, with proper coffee, and butter or pate on toast, and grapefruit juice, and plenty of fruit. Everyone else played with lego, read, and did various bits and pieces.

Then we pulled on shoes and boots and jumpers and the odd coat and went to the little park – it was a lovely day, pretty warm and soft and gentle again, in fact we saw a bee and later I saw a wasp in the house! Standing beneath the cherry tree, the leaves looked more yellow than orange today… They are thin, tapered oval shape and look like a strange flock of goldfish, waiting to take flight. Some had already done so, and lay scattered artistically on the pavement.

We had a lovely time at the park, plenty of running around and shouting and hide and seek and guns in the bushes, and football. We met a friend who lives nearby, Tall C and her little boy E who was in the throws of chicken pox – though he was quite cheerful and most of his spots were in covered areas! We also acquired another little boy who hung out and played for a while and then headed home for lunch, swiftly followed by consols and Little Big Planet. Papacrow washed up and I mercilessly destroyed mould colonies upstairs again, with lots of Detox Mould & Mildew removal. I should have shares in that company, the amount I’ve bought of that product!

There was lots of dressing up – Petal went to the park as Upsy Daisy, in fact, before ending up as a cat. Dot was Wonder Woman before snapping up Petal’s discarded Upsy Daisy outfit, and then just chucking everything off and not wearing anything at all bar a nappy – good job it was warm today! We did wrestle her into some clothes in the end because I had all the windows and the skylight opened upstairs while I was de-moulding.

Roo and Dot made a den/cave with half the kitchen table, and there was also lots of play with the marble run again. We had a lovely fry up for tea, baths and hair washing and hair combing – no squatters I’m glad to report – and settled down for a bit of Country File, Dot went off to bed and then we had snacks – cereal and medicinal ice-cream and the like – for the Strictly Results show which we all enjoyed.

After that it was stories and cuddles and bed – Saurus played some PS3 with Papacrow and also took himself off, and I wrote the shopping list and menu and attempted to do the online ASDA shop but the computer/internet connection was having none of it. Ah well!
