So this is Christmas...

Or, it nearly is! I would start by wondering where December has gone, but I know - mostly sacrificed to viruses.

*Sigh*

Virus's? Virusae?

What is the collective noun for virus, anyhow? A wretch of Viruses? A sniffle? A despair?

So we survived Hand, Foot and Mouth, started getting back into the social and academic whirl and then - just as I was indulging in an ill advised moment of smugness over not succumbing to Dot's cold, I woke up with it. That was seven days ago and I'm only just starting to feel human again *sigh*

Anyhow - we've decorate, made paper chains, wrapped presents, coloured and sent Christmas cards, watched Christmas movies, listened to Christmas Carols and songs, met up with friends, been to the park and (finally, today) the library, Father Christmas (in town), played lots of Bang!, and this week a fair bit of playstation!

The Home Ed group christmas party was great, maths is going well for Saurus, and Dot - as well as snotting and sniffling and dripping - has been heard to be counting up to four by herself, both just because and actually counting items, and sits perfectly cross legged on the floor. Now where on EARTH has she learnt to do that?! Her father I suppose, I don't do floors anymore. Or rather, my pelvis doesn't, which is fair enough!

We're hoping to go to the zoo tomorrow - it's been wild and windy and chilly and rainy but, with the Solstice we seem to have some mild sunny weather - everything is wrapped and Roo and I plan to make mince pies on Saturday with the leftover mincemeat from the batch we made last year.

Oh, and I finally gave the blog a winter make-over!

Happy Winter Solstice one and all :D

Merry Christmas! The blog looks beautiful, I adore the new background.

Hopefully you shall all stay well for a good while!

I was unwilling to brave post office lines so your card will be finding its way to you with lots of stamps I instead. Hope it works perfectly.
