Me oh my, what happened to November?! Suddenly I find it’s finished, we’re on to December and (naturally) I’m a couple of weeks behind on the old blogging front again O.o

Ah well, lets do a good old fashioned November round up shall we?! Last week (The one starting 21st November) we were still recovering and there was plenty of overtired small people, restless nights and slight temperatures along with a light dusting of whinge. We managed a few trips to the small park and one to the big park – Dot did lots of walking on that one – Papacrow took everyone to the library, the weather started to be cold and wet and we did lots of cuddling up and reading. Petal now rather likes ‘proper’ books read to her – we’ve had bits of Tales of Beadle the Bard, The Dolls of Doll Street, Alison Utley’s Tales for Christmas and we’ve also earmarked The Worst Witch, Sam Pig (Alison Utley again) and something else that momentarily escapes me…

There’s also been lots of card and board games which has been nice to see – Bang!, David & Goliath, Munchkin, Chess, Monopoly and Heroica. We’ve been watching lots of old Disney too – Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hercules and we have Tarzan, Toy Story 3, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Aristocats waiting!

We’ve got back into the swing of table time, with the usual diary entries, book reviews, maths & English work books, a bit of Latin or French and handwriting practice. Petal, Fluff and I have been working away at common word and letter flash cards, Fluff’s been storming through his work book and he really has a great grasp of numbers and simple addition and subtraction! I’ve also started pencilling diary entries for him to trace over, like I did with Wig, and we’re making solid progress colouring the Christmas cards – just need to organise a list and send them now.

When it comes to TV programmes they seem to have gone back to Walking with Beasts & Dinosaurs, plenty of Horrible Histories, and old retro Power Rangers. Petal has been enjoying Angelina Ballerina, and we got a cheapy dance DVD to do as well, when there wasn’t a ballet class on 28th December.

This week we managed swimming – although we probably won’t go again now until it starts getting warmer – it was rather chilly! We also had some Home Ed friends round, and cousin P slept over on Wednesday 30th November with Fluff in his tepee, while Aunty A and I drove over to Brighton and saw Duran Duran, which was awesome!
All in all, a very good month
