After discussion, deciding we really do want to bring back the monthly project and a bit of brainstorming, here they are -
January has been all about times tables
February will be Romans, which fits nicely with the various origins of Valentine's Day.
March is Basic Cellular Biology (I envisage lots of fun model making and dress up)
April will be something arty, but I'm not sure what yet - a style, period or particular artist I expect, we need to have another conflab about that!
May will be Georgians
June, July and August will, I know from experience, be almost entirely taken up with watching various sporting tournaments and playing team sports. The Olympics this year too! Also with wild life and nature programmes, trips etc, and general being out doors as much as possible.
September will be Abraham Lincoln and the founding of the USA.
October will be scientific ordering and Hallowe'en
and November and December, I also know now from experience, will be taken up with birthdays, Christmas - crafts, baking, making things and presents, parties, carols, decorating, christmas films and books, etc etc.
So there we have it! Not forgetting Maths & English GCSE courses, Cricket, Karate, Swimming, Chess Club, Toddler Group, Book Group, field trips, the zoo, our stack of documentaries and classic read-out-louds to get through....
