This gorgeous picture is the Ace of Cups from the Robin Wood Tarot deck... I shuffled it thoroughly this morning, drew a random card and this is what I got!
The Ace of Cups is a gift of love, a consummation of a long planned project, the beginning of new one-on-one relationship and heralds the birth of a child! (Or possibly an idea, of course.)
So, hopefully a good omen?!
I saw the consultant today, who was lovely and relaxed and chilled as ever. He recommended I have a membrane sweep on Monday with my midwife (which I was going to do anyway, as it happens), and if nothing's happened by next Friday 18th (when I'll be two weeks over) I'll go in and have my water's broken.
This is a far more palatable option than a pessary or drip, but will mean a hospital birth, and I might not get to give birth in water. Neither of these points fill me with enthusiasm...
However, this baby does have a week to GET HIS SKATES ON, so am keeping active, drinking lots of WELL BREWED raspberry leaf tea, etc. etc.
Please keep the birthy thoughts/prayers/vibes coming!

Eggplant Parmesan is a favorite labor-inducer amongst my friends for those tough cases of babies who seem too comfy past their due date. (I imagine it's scientifically wobbly, but seems to have some level of efficacy nonetheless!)
yes, people have given me a whole long list of things and eggplant (aka aubagine)is one of the things that are new to me, along with fresh pineapple!
I'll try (almost) anything once ;-D
