30 something homeschooling mum, chronicling our adventures with seven crowlets
Hurrah! A squash, a squash!Love the peek into the allotment! When is your frost date over there? Do you have much of a growing season left?
A squash indeed! Checked again today and have at least 7! whoop!hopefully no frost for a while. Not really till about Nov. growing season doesn't really stop tbh
Oh awesome! Here is too late for that sort of squash to be so green. Ours are all turned or on their way, although we're a few weeks off from our frost date - usually near the end of October. We can overwinter certain greens and cabbages here - and of course garlic and onions will overwinter and grow in spring, but that's mostly it unless you have a greenhouse.
Well I did plant them a *little* late but I had a quick sneaky peek round some other allotments on the site and I'm certainly not the only one! It's very sheltered down there
My experience of gardening is that most of the rules are really guidelines, anyway :)
well, that was my understanding of it too, but have never grown vegetables before except on the windowsills - it's all very exciting!
